For the pringle challenge we were asked to transport a pringle chip from one place to another without the pringle being harmed. The requirements were to make a package and to ship it from Nicole's house and back in an attempt to keep it in one piece. In my group's package we used a envelope and since we knew that the smallest package that could be shipped was a 3"x5" envelope, we made the sacrifice of crushing our pringle since we knew that the highest amount of points is five for a crushed pringle and that is how we got the most points out of our team. Our competition results ranged from .5 to 88,888. Most scores were around 1-10. Our score was 88,888 points but since we found a loophole in the project we were asked to make another package to be scored.
The score is found by multiplying the kilogram weight of the pringle multiplied by the volume of the package over the intactness score of the pringle multiplied by 100.
In the future I would not change anything with our package because we got the highest score possible with our envelope but with our second package i would change the size of the box because it could have been smaller. I learned that by finding creative ways and following the guidelines you could receive a high score.
